9-year-old girl, whose family lost home to Hurricane Sandy, dies of leukemia


A 9-yr-previous woman who fought leukemia – as her mother and father misplaced their house to Hurricane Sandy and tried to start out over in California — has died.

Melyssa Sayong had twice crushed most cancers, however she died Monday after a painful relapse.

ABC7 initially interviewed the Sayong household in November 2014, once they have been intermittently homeless and dwelling in a motel after 2012’s Hurricane Sandy devastated the Japanese Seaboard.

With assist from the Santa Ana Police Division and native nonprofit organizations, the Sayongs have been capable of transfer into an condo in October 2015.

“Our ideas & prayers are with the Sayong Household throughout this troublesome time,” the police division stated in a tweet on Tuesday. “Listening to the lack of Melyssa breaks our hearts #rip.”

A GoFundMe web page, titled “Assist us put a bit angel to relaxation,” has been created to assist pay for Melyssa’s funeral bills.

As of Thursday afternoon, the marketing campaign had raised $805 of its $three,500 objective.
