PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) —
TODAY (MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY): Sun gives way to increasing clouds. Winds are about 8-16 mph. It’s a bit breezy and cold for those of you participating in volunteer activities. The high is 32.
TONIGHT: Look for mostly cloudy skies with a low in Philadelphia of 27 and some suburbs dipping into the low 20s.
TUESDAY: We have mainly cloudy skies with some light snow gradually arriving from the north and west late in the day and at night. A general coating to 2″ is expected with the higher amounts likely in NW suburbs and about 1″ near I-95. Despite the light accumulations, slippery travel is still expected. The high is 40 with temperatures dipping quickly once the snow arrives.
WEDNESDAY: Some lingering morning snow showers or flurries are possible, but in general, this is a day of clearing with some sun returning. The high is 35.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny skies are expected throughout most of the day with a brisk and chilly high of 37.
FRIDAY: Finally, we begin to emerge from our latest cold snap. Morning lows are in the 20s, but during the afternoon we see mostly sunny skies and a more comfortable high of 43.
SATURDAY: Look for sunshine mixing with a few patchy clouds and another improved high of 46.
SUNDAY: Slightly milder air arrives for those of you tailgating ahead of the Eagles NFC Championship game. Look for a mix of clouds and sun with an afternoon high of 54. Temperatures will fall into the upper 40s during the game. Rain is possible at some point in the evening, hopefully holding off until after the game, but stay tuned.
MONDAY: This is a mostly cloudy day with rain likely. The high is still relatively mild: 56.
