CHARLESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) – The city of Charlestown is asking a decide to toss out lawsuits introduced by a former police officer.
The officer, Evan Speck, lately pleaded responsible in a steroid case. Speck sued the city and police division members, accusing them of discriminating towards him based mostly on his consideration deficit dysfunction (ADD).
Now, legal professionals for the city need the lawsuits dismissed. In courtroom paperwork, the city claims Speck repeatedly deceived the courtroom by making false claims about his revenue when he was making hundreds trafficking steroids.
Speck faces as much as 33 years in jail when he’s sentenced in November.
