Driver arrested after Indiana scholar dies whereas sledding

A teenage high school student has died after she was hit by a car while sledding in southwest Indiana.

Driver Galina Witte, 20, hit Davis Collier, 16, who slid onto a roadway Saturday in Newburgh, Indiana, the Courier & Press reported.

Witte was arrested and accused of driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction and operating while intoxicated, endangering others.

The Evansville woman could face additional charges, WFIE-TV reported.
