Twelve Harvard College scholar teams are condemning the varsity’s reversal of a choice to ask Chelsea Manning as a visiting fellow.
The teams launched a press release Saturday calling for Harvard to reinstate Manning as a fellow.
Harvard had reversed its choice Friday, in the future after CIA Director Mike Pompeo scrapped a deliberate look over the designation for the soldier who was convicted of leaking categorized info.
Harvard Kennedy Faculty Dean Douglas Elmendorf stated on the varsity’s web site that naming Manning a visiting fellow was a mistake. He says Manning continues to be invited to spend a day on the faculty and converse to college students.
Manning wrote on Twitter that Harvard’s motion chills “marginalized voices beneath CIA strain.”
Elmendorf did not instantly reply to a telephone name and e-mail in search of remark Saturday.
