So, what’s up (and down) with plans to open a trampoline and journey park within the former Remke Markets retailer in Columbia Township?

City Air Trampoline and Journey Parks introduced on its web site (www.urbanairtrampolinepark.com) six months ago that one of its indoor parks – which also is to feature laser tag, glow-in-the-dark golf, climbing walls and a roller coaster – will open in 2017 at the Ridgewater Plaza, 5371-5385 Ridge Ave.

Franchisee Frayer Enterprises of Oklahoma City is to recast the nearly 65,000-square-foot former Remke store in the plaza into Urban Air Cincinnati.

Some 45 jobs are to be created at the former store’s 3240 Highland Ave. address.

Columbia Township lost about 55 jobs when Remke closed in the summer of 2016.

Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Parks said on its website that, “Urban Air is the only entertainment center of its kind, offering activities, weekly events and kids birthday parties that are safe, affordable and fun for the entire family.

“Our Cincinnati location will feature Urban Air’s exclusive wall-to-wall trampoline arenas, dodgeball courts, stunt-airbag, slam dunk tracks, and trampoline runway.

“In addition to the trampoline attractions, this location will be home to Urban Air’s latest cutting edge attractions, such as the Urban Warrior Course, TUBES, indoor playground, Warrior Battle Beam, Pro Zone Performance Trampolines, laser tag, glow-in-the-dark golf, indoor ropes course, climbing walls and an indoor roller coaster,” the website said.

Representatives of Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Parks and Frayer Enterprises could not be reached for comment.

But Urban Air CEO Michael Browning said in the website announcement that, “With over 85 parks currently open or under development, we are thrilled to bring Urban Air to the Cincinnati community.

“Cincinnati is a major destination for family entertainment, which makes it a perfect market for Urban Air. Residents can expect to defy gravity and create a lifetime of memories with our innovative and exciting approach to family-fun.”
