The county says lakes and rivers have been adversely impacted by Hurricane Irma and should include wildlife and submerged gadgets. It is warning individuals to not use the our bodies of water for recreation and to keep away from contact.
Hurricane Irma made landfall on Marco Island late Sunday, Sept. 10 and traveled north. Its eye crossed over the Orange-Lake County border early Monday morning. The storm knocked out energy to hundreds of thousands throughout the state, and municipal pump stations from Brevard to Orange counties have been taxed with stormwater, flooding sewer techniques.
