Outrage over Irma interpreter who signed 'pizza,' 'monster,'…

BRADENTON, Florida —

The deaf group is demanding an apology after officers in Florida used an interpreter who didn’t know what he was doing.

The video of the press convention in Manatee County goes viral.

The interpreter began signing phrases like “pizza, monster and bear” throughout an evacuation order for Hurricane Irma.

The federal government reportedly used a county lifeguard whose brother is deaf, and critics stated they need to have used a licensed interpreter as an alternative.

The interpreter’s household stated he was requested by his bosses to step in and assist throughout an important time.
