Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Brampton, Ont., on Wednesday night.
According to a release from Peel Regional Police, officers were called to the scene of a shooting at the Tower apartment complex at 11:39 p.m. on Wednesday, and found 26-year-old Anteson Semedo in the lobby. Semedo, who lived in the complex, was suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Semedo was rushed to hospital and was pronounced dead.
Police continue to investigate the shooting. No arrests have been made.
The shooting is Peel Regional Police’s 51st homicide of 2018.
“There were a number of witnesses to the shooting and it’s possible we’ll see more as we go forward into this investigation,” said Det. Sgt. Jim Buonocore.
This is the 31st homicide in neighbouring York Region.
“If anyone has any information, you may help us find whoever committed this crime,” Buonocore said.
