KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (WPVI) —
Higher Merion police shot a theft suspect outdoors of the King of Prussia Mall Sunday afternoon.
It occurred round four p.m. outdoors of the Nordstrom aspect of the mall, close to Gulph Street and Mall Boulevard.
Police stated the suspect was behind three armed robberies – one yesterday on the mall and two others in Delaware.
“He deliberately rammed two Higher Merion Township Police automobiles after which was trying to run down officers on foot,” stated Higher Merion Police Chief Thomas Nolan.
Nolan stated that’s when officers fired on the armed suspect, stopping him in his tracks.
Authorities stated a handgun was recovered on the scene together with a stolen automotive.
Police stated the suspect carjacked an 87-yr-previous man in Wilmington, Delaware this month, and fled the identical mall parking storage Saturday after committing an armed theft.
In line with authorities, throughout Saturday’s theft the suspect jumped into the again seat of a lady’s automotive, put a gun to her head and demanded her purse.
The mall remained open by way of the whole incident, based on officers.
Officers stated no officers have been injured within the incident. No phrase on the situation of the suspect.
