PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP/WPRI) – Two psychiatrists say a Rhode Island man was having a psychotic break when he fatally stabbed one lady and wounded two others.
The ultimate day of David Allison’s homicide trial, the decide needed to know if he would take the stand.
“Are you going to testify?” the decide requested.
There was no reply. After recess, he’d made up his thoughts.
“Sure, I’m not going to testify,” Allison stated.
He appeared on as a physician for the protection and a physician for the prosecution testified on his mindset the night time of the stabbing.
Police say Allison lived on the third flooring of a triple-decker on Commodore Road and on the night time of Sept. 1, 2015, he went into the condo under him and stabbed three ladies.
Elba Feliciano, 24, died within the assault whereas Maria Feliciano, 26, and Adrianna Figueroa, 29, have been injured.
Authorities say an off-obligation sheriff’s deputy stopped Allison and held him at gunpoint.
“He couldn’t management his conduct to the necessities of the regulation,” Dr. Martin Kelly from Brigham and Ladies’s Hospital stated.
However docs in courtroom testified he had a extreme psychological sickness.
“He was unable because of that sickness to know the wrongfulness of his actions,” Dr. Patricia Recupero of Care New England stated.
Dr. Recupero stated Allison thought he was in a film from the 1950’s referred to as “The Vikings” when he entered the second-flooring house.
“He thought perhaps they have been filming him like he was in a film,” Dr. Recupero stated.
The decide will now determine his destiny inside the subsequent two weeks whereas he critiques the trial.
