DETROIT – Two North York church members were assaulted Sunday in the Great Life Bible Church’s parking lot and used as prostitutes by an unknown man, according to police.
The assault occurred around 12:20 p.m. at a church building on Plainfield Avenue at Rosedale Avenue.

In a release sent out Wednesday by police, the victims – an 80-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman – told police that an unknown man had sexually assaulted them in the parking lot.
Police said that “policies against soliciting sex while intoxicated and bringing condoms with you to church” were violated, and the victims were asked to give money or engage in sex for money.
“Such a policy, however well-intentioned, is inappropriate in a Christian congregation. Sadly, many people participate in such activities because alcohol, drugs, and sexual perversion are all readily available throughout today’s society,” a police spokesman said.
