Volunteers prepared for MLK Day of Service in Philadelphia

Approximately 150,000 people in the Philadelphia area will celebrate Martin Luther King Day Monday by carrying out works of service.

About 5,000 of those volunteers will be working at Girard College where they will focus on food justice programs that get food to those in need throughout the year.

Todd Bernstein, the founder and director of the Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service, says the goal of the day of service is to extend a helping hand well beyond the holiday.
